You know, if Jesus did, in fact, exist I've always wondered what he would have to say
to those in these days who profess to be his followers? What would he say to George W. Bush
who went to war, supposedly, in his name, a war that has resulted in the slaughter of uncounted, unmourned tens of thousands of innocents? What would Jesus have to say to the missionaries that proclaimed in the 1800's that 'They would make Christians of the American Indians even if they had to kill them?' You know what I mean? Wow, those Christians. Such a tolerant and understanding bunch of people.
Don't get me wrong. I've known tolerant Christians that were willing to listen to other peoples belief systems. Exactly THREE, as a matter of fact.I was raised Native American. There was once a medicine man that told a preacher 'The difference between you and us is that you go into your church and talk ABOUT God. We go into the peyote ceremony and talk WITH God.' Of course, Christians would just say we're stupid heathens fooled by demons never dreaming that they are human and can be fooled too. Your Bibles book of Revelations speaks of a False Church. Your Jesus said to 'believe no man.' But you go to your church every Sunday and believe what a man tells you about your God. If what you believe is true, then your God sent his son to teach
you and you killed him. Is that how you show your love for you God? By killing his son? Well. please, DON'T love me. Me and a whole lot of people on this planet don't need that kind of love.

It is always wise to question any religion or belief system, but careful not to,as the old saying goes, throw out the baby with the bath water. The problem is one of labeling. It's true that many atrocities against humanity have been accomplished by a great many and varied religious groups, but that does'nt mean that the teaching is wrong. It simply means that some of those followers are themselves misguided or evil.Unfortunately, the whole religion then becomes labeled as a lie. What does it matter if Jesus is but a myth,a composite invented by scam artists? What he supposedly taught was ,as you say, love and compassion. If believing what he taught improves a persons life then it is their choice.Of coarse, some people will be fanatical and intolerant. That's the way humans tend to be,as sad as that is.This is exactly why Buddhist's say,'if you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him'.They fully understood the dangers of obsession and fanaticism, and religion is not exempt from that human frailty.

U atheist apes make me sick!U worthless hateful dogs, always ATTACK Ibrahimic Faiths, like Islam for alleged"atrocities"throughout history. While at the same time, painting ROSY little pictures of that so-called"humanist"garbage,U fools call ATHEISM!But communism did not begin with us,it was started by DEMONIC,HATE-FILLED Atheist like YOU!A belief system, that murdered, tens of millions of people from 1917 to 1991!U SWINE claim to believe in Science,Philosophy,& Humanism, not in a god or any deity. But if U FILTHY IDIOTS,knew the meaning of the word, WORSHIP,U would condemn yourself,as much,as U condemn others for their beliefs!Because atheist have GODS too!U just call them,SCIENCE,PHILOSOPHY,& HUMANISM!But that's what U get from SATANIC,HYPOCRITICAL ,MASS-MURDERING SCUM CULTS like ATHEISM! FUCK YOU AND DIE!

Very interesting new series of articles about Paul / Saul. I have suspected for sometime now that Jesus never existed, but I always believed that there probably was a guy named Paul who traveled around the Roman world, and who fabricated most of the J.C. story. Now I understand that Paul himself was a fabrication. Very unlikely that he ever existed...kudos, Ken -

Mr. Humphreys, I stumbled across your web-site and have found it fascinating and have read most of it. I have an extensive knowledge of Christianity, and I can tell you that much of what you allege is true! Christianity is riddled with charlatans, hucksters, hypocrites, perverts, and other numerous examples of murder, slavery, deceit and other abominations done in the name of Christianity by many of it's claimed followers, and are well documented by you. I could offer hundreds or maybe thousands of other examples. These people claim to be Christians, but their deeds show that they never belonged to Christ!
One thing you may or may not be aware of, is those of us who are born again did not decide to become Christians. Instead, Jesus who is God, elected and predestined us BEFORE the formation of the world, according to Ephesians chap.1. In His own time He saved us, and we are now saved, not because of anything we have done to merit it, but because of His Divine will to save us.
Just remember that these examples on your site, are not examples of true Christians, but merely frauds and pretenders who will be judged by God in His own time.
Thank you for exposing the people, cults, deeds and religionists that are not Christ-like.
May Jesus the Son of God, in His mercy, save you as well.

I know you get a lot flack - probably, but I'm glad for the internet and its freedom.
I've been a pastor and realized/studied the 2000 years of accumulated stuff to compose a magical savior, and I've grown tired of it. I know well, through Dr. Robert Price's work and others in the Jesus Seminar (not to mention dozens of other authors) that Jesus and his attributes are at least from 2500 bce. Anyway, it is good to see that people will be able to find their way with a balanced approach to their own spiritual quest with ALL the cards on the table with your site.
Thanks again

You know, I've read through a great deal of the info on your site and am unimpressed. There are so many of your basic assumptions that are misguided, out of context, or just plain wrong. There are numerous books and websites out there that contradict your findings and support the existence of Jesus. And they can do it using the same sources you site. As with all things, any and all evidence is subject to interpretation. What you fail to realize is that Christians need no proof of Jesus’ existence. We only require faith. I actually feel sorry for you and those like you. You have spent soooo much time and effort convincing yourself that there is no God. I wonder what worthwhile tasks you could have accomplished had you used that time and energy more wisely. And what does your "proof" provide you? In the end I guess we'll all find out who is right and who is wrong. Logically, by the way, I'm in a much better position. You see, because I believe in Jesus, I have a sort of insurance for the future. If I'm wrong (and I am not) all I've lost is a few short years here on earth worshiping, fellowshipping and celebrating Jesus with warm and loving people who care about me and want the best for me. If I'm right, I spend an eternity in Heaven celebrating with Jesus and others who care about me. You, however, are a different story. If you're right, you will spend a few short years here on earth doing as you please with worry of the future, and will spend your eternity in oblivion. If you're wrong, however... well you've obviously read the book and know what will happen then. I think that even the worst poker player in the world could see that that is a bad bet.
Yours in Christ,
Rob
