Jesus Never Existed

Ken, as I've said before, you have produced a great work with this website. The truth of the origins of christianity should be on record for all to see. As a former christian and minister, I know the emotions involved in a faith-based lifestyle, yet I had to admit the truth and let my emotions stop running my life. Belief feels good, and it's comforting. However, I'd rather live in the solid earthen hut of reality than in a mansion made of sugar. At least when it rains truth my house won't melt. Good on you for all the effort you've put into this, but I feel sad that you have to endure so much abuse from the followers of the non-man. My Old Testament professor in seminary had a plaque in Latin over his desk, and the translation was: "Don't let the bastards get you down." I pass that on to you.

Great website. I love your comprehensive, detailed research into the pathetic history of the Catholic and Protestant Churches. Keep it going, brother. Sincerely The Beast

You site is a very intelligent one, with a bit of Monty Pythonesque humour used as a sweetener to keep you reading. I myself was a Christian believer for a very long time. Too long! (Almost a quarter century). Even though logic and reason told me it was all human made, a massive lie to keep the poor ordinary sods in line and under control, using the fear of hell to make sure that they behaved, I kept on plugging and it was only this year that I could let go and turn around and say, 'this is all rubbish'. Occasionally even now I tremble at what will happen in the Last Days as punishment for me deserting the saviour. It's sites like this that help me rebalance my mental and emotional equilibrium and face the Truth, that life happened and happens and there is no reason for things going right or wrong, certainly not a big being in space who predestines us to salvation or condemnation on a whim. Sorry about the rotten spelling and - All the best.

Hi Ken, We've talked before. The results of your extraordinary effort and dedication have produced a remarkable site. The combination of empirical evidence and insights concerning how it can or does relate provides thinkers with a truely comprehensive resource. You have helped me immensely. Problematic for me, though, is the observation of the possibility that religion may give some evolutionary advantage even though it is based upon beliefs in likely non-existant entities and personages. However illogical the thought and in spite of religion's overwhelming contribution to human suffering, it does seem that religion has been a significant variable in elevating individuals and societies to the top of the heap (e.g. power, wealth, land, influence, etc.). That concept totally confused me until it occured to me that religion, rather then being a structure and blueprint based upon the highest of moral standards, actually gives permission for any behavior. In competetion, the side not constrained by rules has a huge advantage. In the concept of "survival of the fittest" the "fittest" is simply the survivor, regardless of the method. It may be that the epigram "the best thing to be in a sewer is a rat" is too apt to be considered by intelligent minds looking for the high road in humanity. Not saying this is all true, and I definitely do not want it to be, but my mind worries these thoughts over and over without resolution. Take care, thank you for your work, and I look forward to your upcoming publication. Namaste...Burma

You have done some excellent research. Between this site and The Rejection of Pascal's Wager, I have learned exponentially more than I have ever known about this religion. Add to that the infidels.org resource, and I am at a loss for how any rational reasonable person could still buy into this stuff. Thanks. ~mike

Nicely done - refreshing place to visit. But I wish there was a way to make people see the stupidity of organized religion. Knowledge alone is insufficient to "enlighten" those so trapped, and it seems the only way to help the intelligent to escape it is to present the facts at a time when they're going through great emotional stress.

Excellent site! It would appear that the number of people in the world who realise that religion is a massive con is on the rise. Hopefully sooner rather than later we can consign JC to the same status as Zeus, Odin, Mars, et al. Keep up the great work!
